About the CampaignWe are raising funds for the Beat the Streets Kenya Cultural Exchange and Sports Diplomacy Summer Program. The program takes urban youth from Baltimore City, MD to Kenya, Africa and Cairo, Egypt for a fast-paced, short-term sports cultural exchange. During the program, they engage with Kenyan peers and wrestlers at the United States University of Africa (USIU), participate in wrestling camps/clinics, sessions on leadership, team-building and conflict resolution, as well as on inclusion and equity in sport. The program will cultivate youth leaders who will return to their communities with a global perspective and an increased ability to tackle tough challenges. The program will also help to empower Kenyans with the resources and equipment to create interscholastic programs in local schools. Our program will show young people how participation in athletics can empower and translate into achievements in the classroom and life.
